Firefox extension: Reveal
Have you ever lost yourself in a maze of numerous tabs or to
need to saw back and forth between them? Reveal might be the
solution for you.
Reveal is an extension for Firefox 1.5 or newer. It was created for the Extend Firefox contest. Reveal allows you to see thumbnails of pages in your session history and quickly find the page you want.
My colleague Jukka Holm told me yesterday of this cool extension for Mozilla Firefox. By pressing F2 I can get a thumbnail list of all the tabs I have open and visually determine which tab I was looking for. and to browse the tab history I simply hit Insert - and there you go, thumbnails of the history of a tab.
It is also possible to view global history or to use quite fast
text searching tool to exclude tabs.
Especially good if there's a tabs with similar titles or loads
of tabs on a smaller screen - titles tend to get heavily
truncated.
Some minor eye candy enhancements would be nice still to boost
usability, though. I'd be happy if there would be strict 1px
black borders surrounding every page thumbnail, since now they
blend too much to the background. Otherwise very nice!
